After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore, encourage one another with these words.

On Monday morning of May 31, 2021 Willie Alvin “Lassie” Drakeford was given a special assignment and was granted his wings. Willie Alvin ‘Lassie” Drakeford known to many as “Lassie” was born on January 5, 1963 to the late John and the late Lillian Drakeford. He was loved and raised in the home of his late mother Lillian Drakeford McDuffie and his late stepfather Irvin McDuffie.
Willie “Lassie” Drakeford grew up with 11 loving siblings; Ricky, (the late) Ronald, Tranzia, Doris, (the late) Curtis, Calvin, Charles, Trina, (the late) Irvin Jr., (the late) Ola Mae, (the late) Joseph and (the late) Elaine. Willie Alvin “Lassie” Drakeford graduated from Mullins High School in 1981 and went on to attend Benedict College in Columbia South Carolina. Willie Alvin “Lassie” Drakeford became willfully employed as an Occupational Mental Health Specialist with The South Carolina Department of Mental Health; where he would retire after 20 years of faithful service. In 1998 Willie Alvin “Lassie” Drakeford returned to Mullins South Carolina were he would spend his retirement years.
Willie Alvin “Lassie” Drakeford was a cheerful, God fearing man who believed in family and friends and would help anyone in need. Willie Alvin “Lassie” Drakeford loved to dance and fellowship within the community. Willie Alvin “Lassie” Drakeford loved to ride his bike, cook skins, make his special secret sauce and listen to music while cooking what he called a meal fit for a king. One of his favorite sayings was “I look good don’t I. Yeah, I know, I Love you too baby”. Willie Alvin “Lassie” Drakeford will be missed by everyone that knew him.
Willie Alvin “Lassie” Drakeford was loved by everyone who knew him. He was survived by 11 siblings and his nieces Sharonda, Cherae, Chicquita, Destinee and nephews (the late) Ronsheen, Curtis Jr. Travis(special), Calvin Jr., Brandon, Devin, Jahlil, Jeremiah, Edward Jr. and a host of great nieces and great nephews.
