Thurman "Buster" J Jones

Thurman “Buster” Jones was born on May 2, 1934 to the late Fannie Liza Washington and Ed Fonse Jones in Proctorville, NC.  He departed this life on Friday, September 24, 2021 at his home in Lake View, SC. 

Thurman attended school in Proctorville, NC.  Thurman joined Union A.M.E. Church at a young age and later became a member of the Mason.  Thurman was very a very talented self-taught licensed plumber and electrician (a jack of all trades) and loved to use this talent to help many people in Lake View and surrounding communities.  Thurman dedicated over 60 years of his life to the Lake View community and surrounding areas assisting them with their plumbing and electrical needs. 

Thurman was united in marriage to the late Rev. Shirley Jones in 1961 and they were married for 48 years.  Thurman leaves to cherish fond memories his son, Benny (Susan) Jones of Lawrencville, GA, two step sons, Sylvester (Beverly) Rogers of Columbus, OH, Reginald Gilchrist (preceded in death),  three daughters, Cassandra Brannon (preceded in death), Tammy Bostic (preceded in death), Fonda (Tirrell) Abraham of Fairmont, NC, one sister, Ruby Neal Davis of Lake View, SC, one nephew, James “Pop” Jones of Raleigh, NC, one niece, Fannie Mason of Lauringburg, NC, one grandson, Brenyn Jones of Lawrenceville, GA, seven granddaughters, Elizabeth Jones of Charleston, SC, Taylor Jones of Philadelphia, PA, Alexis Coleman, Ariana Coleman, Aaliyah Jones-Davis of Fairmont, NC, Azaria Holiday of Dillon, SC, Brynlee Jones of Lawrenceville, GA, one great grandson, Darius Jones of Charleston, SC, and one great granddaughter, Aniya Jones of Charleston, SC.  Thurman was well-known, loved, and respected in the Lake View community.
