Tommy "Dick" Grant Obituary

Tommy Lee “Lil Dick” Grant was born in Mullins, SC on March 7, 1961 to Bobby Lee and Darleane Grant in Marion County, S.C. On Wednesday, December 2, 2020 he was called home to be in the presence of the Lord.

He attended and graduated from Mullins High School in 1979.  Tommy Lee was the manager of North Mullins Grocery for many years. Later in life, he was employed at Sara Lee Hosiery in Marion, SC. He then worked as a manager at Dixon Clark Warehouse until his health declined.

As a young man he attended the House of God Church in Centenary, SC. He was the male lead singer with the group Little Angels. His favorite song to sing was Do You Know The Man. Tommy Lee never meet a stranger and he was well known by all and he would always greet you by saying, “What’s Up Cuz!”

Tommy Lee leaves to cherish fond and loving memories: his Mother, Darleane Grant of Mullins, SC; one daughter: Nakia Cooper-Satchell (Eric) of Marion, SC; two sisters: Bobbie Jean Grant of Mullins, SC and Tonya Grant of Athens, Ga; two brothers: Rickey Lee Grant of New Orleans, LA; Jesse Grant of Cheraw, SC; two grandchildren: Nakyrah and Gary both of Marion, SC; three nieces: Barbrecia Grant of Fayetteville, NC; Raven Grant-Hines (Sherman) of Brownsville, Tn, and Tanginicqua Scott of Athens, Ga; 1 nephew: Tranardo Scott of Athens, Ga. 5 great-nephews: Xai, Rashad, Samaji, and Dallas all of Brownsville, Tn; Preston Scott of Athens, Ga. 6 living aunts: Ethel Lee Squire and Virginia Ford (Lee Ernest) of Baltimore, Md; Sylvia Ann Davis, Ezell Grant, Pastor Annie Jean Eaddy-Prescod (Dennis) of Cape Coral, Fl, and Hester Smith of Mullins, SC; 4 living uncles: Carlite (Evelina) of Augusta, Ga, Wendell Grant of Bronx, NY, Johnny Legette of Mullins, SC, and Jr Ellison of Syracuse, NY.

Proceeding him in death:  his father Bobby Lee Grant, his grandparents, Letha and Alex Legette, Catherine Grant and Jim Ellison; 2 aunts: Celestine Richburg and Carolyn Brock, 3 uncles: Alex Legette, Jr, Edward Grant Sr, and Hayvern Grant.
