Shakia Hayes Owens

Shakia was the 2nd child born to the late Patricia Hayes.  She was born in Mullins, South Carolina on August 12, 1984, and lived her entire life in and around Mullins, and spent a lot of time in North Carolina where her dad lived. She met a great young man and got married to Pete Owens on July 9, 2011, and they shared a lovely life together.  

Shakia was a sweet soul, and everybody who knew her loved her.  She always worked to make sure her family was provided for. She always worked hard to better herself and decided a couple of years ago to go back to school, and received her degree in the health care profession.

Shakia was currently working in the Elderly Healthcare Profession and was loving and kind to her clients.  

Shakia was a very dependable person and had wisdom far above her young years in age. She acted as a momma to not only to her children, but others in the community.  We are really going to miss her Sweet and Gentle Spirit!!

One Daughter:   Malaysia, Mullins, SC.  One Son: Jacoby, Mullins, SC; Two Sisters:  Nacolia Hayes, Mullins, SC; Staphanie Scott, Marion, SC; Two Brothers, Hykeye Woodberry, Mullins, SC; Christopher Scott, Marion, SC;  Three Neices:  Nyonce’, Destiny & August; Mullins, SC.  Father: Lee Alfred Collins, Mullins, SC.  Five Uncles:  LeeGrant Hayes Jr., Mullins, SC; Edgar Hayes, Brooklyn, NY; Donald (Cheryl) Hayes, Fort Worth, TX; Ronald Hayes, Fayetteville, NC; and Randolph Hayes, Mullins, SC.  Three Aunts:   Lula Powell, Brooklyn, NY; Linda Grissett, Riverdale, GA; and Cassandra Hayes, Jacksonville, FL.  Two Great Aunts:  Dorothy Rosenbloom, Ellenton, Fl; Fronnie Gerald, Mullins, SC.  One Great Uncle, James Platt, Bradenton, Fl.  A host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
