Randy Reaves

Randy Reaves was born July 7, 1937 in Lakeview South Carolina to the late Lena Gore. He departed this earthly life journey on Friday March 10, 2023 at Columbus Regional Medical Center of Whiteville, North Carolina.

Randy joined Mitchell Sea Baptist Church of Green Sea, South Carolina at an early age. After graduating high school, he served in the United States Army and after being discharged he moved to Newark, New Jersey where he worked for Washington National Insurance Company; there he met and married his wife Jannie Ruth. After retirement he moved to Tabor City , North Carolina. randy truly enjoyed always being dressed and driving nice rag top cars.

In addition to his mother, Randy was preceded in death by his brother John Gore, and two sisters, Fannie Gore Briscoe and Sylvia Long.

 Randy leaves to cherish his precious memories: his wife Jannie Ruth Reaves; his children Dwight M. (Lattelle )Reaves of Plainfield, New Jersey, Angela (James) Stubbs of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Maurice Graham of Columbia, South Carolina; three brothers, Jimmy Lee Reeves of Green Sea, South Carolina Clifton Gore of Charlotte, North Carolina and Lynn Gore of Brooklyn,New York; five sisters Rosa Vaughn of Tabor City, North Carolina Bonnie Gore of Charlotte, North Carolina, Beatrice Gore of Burlington, North Carolina, Priscilla Gore of Brooklyn, New York and Gurline Gore of New York, New York; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, relatives and other friends.

Marching home

When I go marching home, please don’t grieve for me. I’ll be in a better place full of God’s Serenity. My woes and cares shall be released. My spirit free to roam. I’ll find the Lord’s exalted peace when I go marching home.
