REV. TIMOTHY HAYES Obituary

.

OBITUARY

Rev. Timothy Todd Hayes was the 10th child born to the late Deacon Lee Grant and Beulah Mae Hayes.  He was born in Mullins, South Carolina and lived his entire life in and around the Mullins, and Marion communities.  He went to Palmetto Middle School and then transferred to Mullins High School.  As a youngster, Timothy was a very active person and was the mischievous troublemaker in the family.  He was very charming and very loved.

The Family had a singing group called the Hayes Crusaders, and Timothy was an active part of the family group.  He along with his brother Randolph, played the drums.  He was very skilled in playing for the group. Timothy was a member of the House of God along with his entire family as they worked together in that ministry.  As Timothy got older, he strayed from the right path, and found himself caught up in the judicial system for quite a number of years.  But after he served his time, he re-dedicated his life to God, and had a heart for others who had served time in the judicial system.  He was licensed at a minister by the G.I.F.T. Ministries in 2017, and he was later ordained as an Elder in 2019.  He had a vision to erect a center where ex-offenders could come and receive education and treatment and also have a place to call home.  While waiting for this to come to fruition, Rev. Hayes had a heart for those broken hearted, homeless and hungry.  He established the TNT Ministry, a registered non-profit organization, and began to work on meeting the needs of his community.   As a matter of fact, his last event in feeding the homeless was accomplished while he was very physically ill, but he persevered and accomplished it.  Rev. Hayes didn’t sit on the sidelines, but he worked for the Lord giving God his all.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his Wife, Sallie P. Hayes of Latta, SC.  One Son: Cedric Robertson, Brittons Neck, SC.  One Step Son: Anthony (Tonya) Rowell, Latta, SC.  Five brothers:  LeeGrant Hayes Jr., Mullins, SC; Edgar Hayes, Brooklyn, NY; Donald (Cheryl) Hayes, Fort Worth, TX; Ronald Hayes, Fayetteville, NC; and Randolph Hayes, Mullins, SC.  Four sisters:   Lula Powell, Brooklyn, NY; Linda Grissett, Riverdale, GA; Cassandra Hayes, Jacksonville, FL, and Patricia Collins, Mullins, SC.  Four Brother-in-Laws from Dillon:  Jimmy German, Freddie Peppers; Willie (Shirley) Peppers, and Thomas Peppers.  Four Sister-in-Laws from Dillon:  Annie German; Jessie (Royal) Thomas; Isabella (Ronnie) McKinley; Denise (Victor) Kennedy.  Mother-in-Law:  Kathleen Peppers. Five grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
