PATRICIA HAYES COLLINS

     Patricia Ann Hayes Collins was the 8th child born to the late Deacon Lee Grant and Beulah Mae Hayes. She also had a younger brother, Rev.Timothy Todd Hayes, who also preceded her in death. She was born in Mullins, South Carolina and lived her entire life in and around the Mullins, and Marion communities. She went to Palmetto Middle School and then transferred to Mullins High School. Mom and Dad Hayes birthed 6 children, four boys and two girls and then 7 years later, four more children were born; two girls and two boys; of which Patricia was the youngest girl. The Family had a singing group called the Hayes Crusaders, and Patricia was one of the major lead singers of the family. Her favorite song was “Get Up, Sitting Down, God Can’t Use You Sitting Down.” Every time she led that song, it just ignited those listening. She enjoyed singing in our home church, the House of God, Mullins.

     Patricia was a hard worker and possessed great people skills. She embraced people as friends and never strangers. When she worked at Hardees, customers, old and young loved to be in her presence during her shift. Patricia also spent a number of years working in the Elderly Healthcare Profession and was loving and kind to her clients. She was the life of the party. There was never a dull moment with “Trisha”, as she was lovingly called. If things were quite and gloomy, Trisha would come in the room and her contagious smile and her uncanny humor, would turn the atmosphere totally around. The past few years, Trisha faced some medical difficulties, but she always maintained an upbeat nature when she could. Praise God she is now in no more pain.

Five Grandchildren: Nyonce’, Destiny & August; Malaysia & Jacoby; Mullins, SC. One Son: Hykeye Woodberry, Mullins, SC. Five brothers: LeeGrant Hayes Jr., Mullins, SC; Edgar Hayes, Brooklyn, NY; Donald (Cheryl) Hayes, Fort Worth, TX; Ronald Hayes, Fayetteville, NC; and Randolph Hayes, Mullins, SC. Three sisters:

     Lula Powell, Brooklyn, NY; Linda Grissett, Riverdale, GA; and Cassandra Hayes, Jacksonville, FL. Two Aunts: Dorothy Rosenbloom, Ellenton, Fl; Fronnie Gerald, Mullins, SC. One Uncle, James Platt, Bradenton, Fl. Two Goddaughters: Jemesha Gerald and Tykeyah Legette. Her Bike Club Organization – Phantastic Queens SC, EST. 2019, Mullins, SC; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
