Mrs. Natha Lee Davis Edwards was born March 26, 1950, to the late William and Elethar Davis in Horry County, South Carolina. Natha
“Bug” as she is affectionately known, transitioned from labor to reward Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Conway Medical Center, Conway, South Carolina. She attended the Public School System of Horry County, to include Levister Elementary School, Whittemore High School, Aynor High and Horry Georgetown Technical College. She was employed at Aynor Manufacturing, Sun Fun and Heritage Sportswear, Marion, SC.
She married Lonnie Edwards, to this union one child, Andre “Boobie” Davis was born. At an early age she joined Union Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church where she served as Church Secretary, and later St. John Freewill Baptist Church where she served as an usher, assisted the church’s kitchen staff, and a member of the Senior choir. Natha Lee had a special gift from the Lord in serving and being of assistance to many families in the Aynor and Galivants Ferry communities as a caretaker.
She leaves to cherish many fond and precious memories, her loving husband Lonnie, son Andre Davis (partner Sharon Atkins), one grandson De’Andre Davis, the mother of his child Michelle Davis, Sisters Louise Gladys Green, of Conway, SC, Rose Tynes, Conway, SC, Nealy Mae Taylor of Aynor, SC, one brother-in-law Andrew
“Snookie” Davis, Marion, SC, two sisters-in-law Ida Mae Davis and Audie Bell Godbolt, Marion, SC, several nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were one sister Eldeas Davis Jenkins, Brothers Wardie Godbolt, Jr., Sylvester Stanley Davis, and William Joseph Davis.
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the Dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
