Mary Davis affectionately known as “Mae” daughter of the late Rev. Henry and Annie Bell Harps was born on July 16, 1944 and was called home on January 29, 2022 at MUSC Hospital in Charleston, SC.
Mae was educated at Palmetto High School. She accepted Jesus as her personal Savior at an early age and was a faithful member of Six Mt Zion Baptist Church. She later moved to New York and attended New Covenant House of Prayer for All People Apostolic Doctrine where she served as the secretary.
She loved to cook, sew, and bake. She never met a stranger and loved everyone she encountered. Mae moved back home to Mullins in 2015 where she joined Effingham Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful member, sang on the Adult Choir, Pastor’s Aide, Kitchen Committee, and great bible student. She was the second oldest child of three children; one sister proceeded her in death.
Mae leaves to cherish her memories; her husband of 59 years, Fred Davis Jr; one son Fredrick Sharod Davis. One sister Arlene Edmond of Elizabeth NJ. Three sister in laws Victoria (Sampson) Jordan, Nancy Godfrey of Mullins SC; Sharon (Willie) Johnson of Mesa AZ. A host of very special nieces, nephews and host of relatives and friends.
