Mary Boykin

Mary Magdaline Boykin the daughter of the late Mr. Sandy and Mabel Williams of Centenary, South Carolina departed this life on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 4:00pm at the Carolinas Medical Center in Florence, SC. She was born July 15, 1937 in Centenary, SC.

Mary was a member of the Good Hope A.M.E Church of Centenary, South Carolina but was humbly led by the Holy Spirit and became affiliated with the Now Faith Apostolic Church, Rains, SC in the early 2000s under the guidance of Pastor Ivory B Wilson. She accepted Christ as her savior and redeemer early in life and bestowed the same spiritual beliefs in her children, grandchildren and great-grands. She was a willing and dedicated member of the church until her health failed. 

She attended the public school system of Marion County School District #3. She was a graduate of Terrell’s Bay High School. 

Mary was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Jimmie Dell Boykin of D’Lo, Mississippi and to this union 6 children were born. 

She was preceded in death by two children, Mr. Timothy Jimmy Dell Boykin and Olivia Montiel Boykin.

She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories, her husband, Jimmy Dell Boykin of Centenary, SC; one son, James Thurman Williams(Janice) of Manassas, VA; three daughters, Cynthia Boykin of Centenary, SC, Valerie Boykin of Effingham, SC and Avis Lolita White(Larry) of Centenary, SC; 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
