Marcus Gerald

     Mr. Marcus Brandon Dale Gerald was born March 22, 1978 in Marion, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Mr. Robert Dale and Mrs. Dorothy Wilson Gerald.  Marcus was called to eternal rest on Monday, April 26, 2021 at MUSC in Florence, SC.

     Marcus was a member of Beulah United Methodist Church at a young age.  He later became a member of Morning Star Ministries in Darlington, South Carolina.

     “Mark” as he was affectionately known graduated from Mullins High School in Mullins, South Carolina.  After graduation, he attended Florence Darlington Technical College for a short time.   He then went on to have a series of sales positions.   Marcus could sell ice water to an eskimo. 

     Marcus had a love for cars, just like his Dad.  He also loved to cook, just like his Mom.  Marcus was an avid supporter of his family.  He made sure they were taken care of in every way.  He truly loved his family and loved spending time with them.  Marcus traveled to other countries a lot with his family and friends.  He will be terribly missed by “The Crew”, but we have so many unforgettable memories of our time together.  Razorback Stadium wont’ be the same without him there cheering Dorian on, although we know he will be there in spirit.   You would have never known Marcus was sick because he was always the life of the party!  He enjoyed life and living it to the fullest! 

      Marcus was married to Shana Paige Gerald and to this union they were blessed with two children. Marcus was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  He could not get enough of little Miss Aubree! 

     Those left to cherish Marcus’ memories are his wife, Shana Paige Gerald of the home; his son, Dorian Gerald of Fayetteville, Arkansas;  his son, Jaylen Gerald of Florence, SC;  his granddaughter, Aubree Gerald of Florence, SC; his sister, Roberta (Ricardi) Ellison of Charlotte, NC; two nieces, Kiya Gary and Sydney Gary of Charlotte, NC; his godmother, Linda Wilson of Columbia, SC; his godson, KJ Arthur of Darlington, SC and a special friend Gregory Harris  of Florence, SC who was the “big” brother Marcus needed and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
