On December 19, 2023, God saw fit to call Malakiah Legette home after battling heart complications for numerous years.
Malakiah Legette (71) was the son of the late Hayward and Minnie Bell (Hughes) Legette Sr. Malakiah was preceded in death by his brothers Thomas Earl Legette, Hayward Legette, Hezicah Legette, and three sisters Rebecca (Grady) Gilchrist, Flora Bell (Henry) Brown, James H(Lena) Legette and Marie Legette; two brother in laws Willie C Crawford and Benson Crawford.
Malakiah received a formal education from public schools of Marion County and graduated from Mullins High School in 1973. Malakiah worked in many factories with Harbor Freight in Dillon, SC being the last. Malakiah was self-employed for several years and was always an awesome provider and loved his family dearly.
Malakiah was baptized at an early age at Little Mount Zion Baptist Church in Lakeview, SC.
On March 3, 1977, Malakiah entered into holy matrimony to Barbara Joann (Crawford) Legette and from this union two children were born.
He leaves to cherish fond memories, his wife Barbara Joann Legette; his children Mallie Tyrone Legette (Keisha) and Addie Miranda Tart (Waldo); two additional children he raised as his own: Mark Henson and Anthony White; five sisters-in-law: Lionell Russell, Sarah McFarland, Harriet Crawford, Debbie (Lee) Nelson, and Cassie Hines; several grandchildren, two great-grand children, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends..
