Deacon Mack McClellan was born in Mullins, SC to Frank and Emma McClellan on July 12, 1950. Mack entered eternal rest on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC. He was preceded in death by both his parents, Frank and Emma McClellan, daughter; LaKechia Ann McClellan, and a special niece Gwendolyn Michelle Barren.
Deacon Mack was a 1968 graduate of Columbus High School, Lake View, SC where he was the school band Drum Major. He also graduated from Kenneth Shuler Barber College, Columbia, SC with a bachelor’s degree. Mack was a well-known and well-loved Barber at Taylor’s Barber Shop, Marion, SC for over 45 years. As a member of the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, he took on many roles, but was most proud when he faithfully served as the Chairman of the Deacon Board and the President of the choir. Mack was such a joy to be around. He wholeheartedly loved his family, work family, church family and loyal customers.
Mack leaves to cherish loving memories, his son: Michael (Monique) McClellan, Clinton, UT; four sisters: Ms. Barbara McClellan, Gwendolyn McClellan, Nicole Palmer of the home, LaTiffany Davis, Knoxville, TN; five brothers: James (Tea) McClellan, Fork, SC, Wilson (Beverly) Eaddy, Marion, SC, Frank (Mary) Taylor, Syracuse, NY, Ken (Julia) Fields, Leavenworth, KS, Tyler Reynolds, Florence, SC; Grandchildren: Michael, Aamirrah, Kehyon and Bricyn, Clinton, UT, five nieces: Angel McClellan, Jamie McClellan, Fork, SC, Ameera Eaddy, Florence, SC, Jamilah (Kevin) Campbell, Mullins, SC, Essence Eaddy; one nephew: Michael Eaddy, Charlotte, NC and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
