Katie Nelson Brunson

Mrs. Katie Mae Nelson Brunson was born June 29, 1954 in Mullins, South Carolina to the late Robert Lee Nelson Sr. and Dosia Gerald Nelson. She departed this earthly life on Monday, August 16, 2021.

Katie attended Marion County public schools. She was employed at AVM for more than 15 years and decided to start her own business (K&K Cleaning Services). Katie cleaned houses and businesses all over the Pee Dee and Grand Strand until her health declined.

Katie accepted Christ and joined The Mill Creek Baptist Church of Mullins, SC. There she served as a member of the Usher Board and took care of the cleaning of the church.

Proceeded her in death: her son Seaqurrious “Juicey” Nelson, grandson Demeterrious Nelson, 2 sisters, Rose Nelson, Janice Ellerbe and 2 brothers, MJ and James Nelson.

Katie leaves behind to cherish her memory: her husband, Carl Brunson of the home; her daughter, Shakeala (Todd) Garland of Florence, SC; a son, Deon (Tiffany) Nelson of Zion, SC; three step-daughters: Amy Brunson of Rains, SC; Joella Brunson of Florence, SC; and Brandy (Anthony) Ford of Mullins, SC; a step-son: Travis Rogers of Marion, SC; One sister: Dora (Lacy) Rogers of Mullins, SC; one brother: Robert “Junebug” Nelson of Mullins, SC; 7 grandchildren: Tyquan, Shaq, Ky’heem, Princess, Daquan, Michael, and Kayla; two great-grandchildren: Cherish and A’lynn; an adopted grand-daughter: Jasmine Major and 3 adopted great-children: Junior, Peyton and Odonis; 3 special friends: Darlene Spry, Loretta Gibbs and Cynthia Edge; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
