Kathy D (Legette) McFarland

Kathy McFarland, affectionately known as "Duck" was born on April 6, 1966 to the late McKinley and Mae Ciller Legette in Mullins, South Carolina. Kathy attended Marion county schools and graduated from Mullins High School in 1984. Kathy also attended Coker College from 2008 to 2009. Kathy was a loving and warm-hearted person that loved being surrounded by people and having a good time. She had a big heart and didn't mind helping anyone. Kathy was funny and full of life to the very end. It was never a dull moment around her when in need ..."Come by the house!"

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents: McKinley and Mae Ciller Legette; sisters, Mary Alice and Minnie Legette; brothers William Legette and Willie Joe Crawford; her son Jeffrey McFarland.

Kathy leaves to cherish her precious memories: two children, Jamonica McFarland of Columbia, South Carolina and Sho'Mari Owens of the home; her significant other, Donald Thompson of the home; seven grandchildren, Demarrion Woodbery, Quamear Gaylord, Ja'Mia Gerald, Jasmine Nobles, ZyMear Gaylord, Jamear McFarland, and Serenity Owens; two sisters, Patricia Cochran of Marion, South Carolina, Jacqueline Legette of Mullins, South Carolina; one brother, Larry (Patricia) Legette of Mullins, South Carolina; special niece/sister, Gloria (Anthony) Davis; a host of special friends/cousins: Tina Simmons Ferline, Zella Oliver, Jesse Grant, Debra Ann Flemming, Wanda McFadden, Tilda Williams and Anthony Piney Joe Williamson, just to name a few; nieces she held dear to her heart, Chiffon and Melissa Legette, JaKayla Sanders and her main man Brian BJ Boykin, that made sure they came to check on her;  and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
