There comes a time in everyone’s life when they must leave the one’s they love. That time came for Ms. Joyce Currie, she went on home late Saturday evening on February 6, 2021 to be with our heavenly father. She was born in Marion County on August 12, 1959, to the late Mr. Valtine and Flora Mae Flemming.
Joyce was a 1978 graduate of Mullins High School. She was united in holy matrimony to Eugene Currie in which two children were born. She was a faithful member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her brother, Leroy Flemming, Sister Jean Vereen, Sister Arshall Flemming.
She leaves to cherish for her memories Arnold Leonard of the home. One daughter Chiquita (Will) Jacobs of Mullins SC, One son Kendrick (Meleesa) Currie of Charlotte NC, one child she reared: Chylan King of the home. Eight grandchildren: Dee, Destiny, Tae, Aurhyah, Jaylan, Jay, Premier, Nathan, Kamirra, Zae Zae. Five sisters: Wanda (Frank) McFadden, Deborah (Rufus) Holmes, James (Brenda) Flemmimg, and Kay Frances Nichols, Vanessa White all of Mullins SC, Two brother-in-law: Gray Johnson Sr. of Mullins SC, Jerome Leonard of Mullins Sc. Two Aunts: Lena Bell (James) Johnson of Ocean City, New Jersey, Elizabeth Legette of Mullins Sc. Special Friends: Wanda Pittman, Rhonda Davis Page, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many many friends.
