Jessie Gaddy, Sr.

Jessie “Pop” Gaddy, Sr. was born in Marion County, SC on December 12, 1946 to his parents: Margaret Graham Gaddy and the late Marvin Gaddy Sr. He departed this life on the morning of July 9, 2021 at Carlyle Senior Care of Fork, SC.

Jessie attended the public schools of Marion County, SC in his earlier years and later worked as a laborer for various local industries. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and had a passion for car racing. Everyone who knew him knows that he had a unique laugh that would travel for miles.

Jessie was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Gaddy, Sr.; one sister, Evelyn Gaddy; one brother, Ronald Gaddy; and one granddaughter, Jaleesa Gaddy.

He is survived by his lovely mother, Margaret Graham Gaddy of Nichols, SC; his beloved wife, Alice Faye Gaddy of Nichols, SC;  five sons: Jessie Gaddy, Jr. of Charlotte, NC; Rondell Gaddy of Fayetteville, NC; Draper Gaddy of Nichols, SC; Antron Gaddy of Nichols, SC; and Jessie Gaddy of Lake View, SC; one daughter:  Jessica Gaddy of Dillon, SC; six sisters: Carolyn Gaddy of Louisville, KY; Gwendolyn Frierson of Troy, NY; Annie Paige (Cornell) of Mullins, SC; Marilyn Saxon (James) of Nichols, SC; Linda Gaddy of Durham, NC; and Rachell Gaddy-Scott (Leslie) of Inman, SC; one brother: Marvin Gaddy, Jr. of Louisville, KY; eight brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; thirteen grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
