Ivy Joyce McGaney

Ms. Ivy Joyce McGaney departed this life on April 24, 2021 in Galloway, New Jersey.  Ivy was born on August 1, 1956 to the late Almateen White McGaney and Hezekiah McGaney. 

Ivy joined Mt. Carmel Baptist Church as a teenager and became a life long member even after moving to New Jersey.  She remained a member attending her home church when she came home.  Oftentimes, Ivy would attend church with her brother, Peter and Cretessa in Nichols, SC under the leadership of Rev. Charles Johnson. 

Ivy Joyce received her education in Marion County School system.  She was a member of the class of 1975.  She graduated from the Harris School of Business in Linwood, New Jersey.  Ivy became a medical assistant and enjoyed working with the sick and elderly.  She continued to work as a private care nurse until her health failed.  Ivy was the type of person who you cherished as a friend.

She leaves to cherish five (5) children Leonardo McGaney of Atlantic NJ; Ronnette McGaney of Galloway NJ, Steve Anderson of Smithville NJ, Ashawnda Hannah of Columbia SC, and Tavaris Wheeler of Mullins SC; Four (4) siblings: Shelva Jean McGaney Pee of Mullins who preceded her in death, Earnest H. (Lizzie Keletta) McGaney of Augusta GA, Cleveland (Cretessa) White of Mullins SC and Thomasena Bell Harley of Mays Landing NJ; one special niece Teresa Renee McGaney (Jensyl) Guy of Egg Harbor NJ; one aunt Listeen Owens of Fort Pierce FL; one special friend Clifford Smith of Atlantic City NJ; Eleven (11) granchildren: Dylontis Anderson, R'Mohni McGaney, Ce'Renity Smith, Prada McGaney, Ivann McGaney, Taj Henderson, Christian McCray, Anmareion Fisher, Tykell Fisher, Amira Washington, Sunshyne Anderson; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends, who are missing her already.
