Iola Scott was born on April 06, 1926 to the late Nathan and Isla Dewitt James and departed this life on June 29, 2019, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Fork, SC. She will join her daughter, Henrietta Worley; sons: Gregory and Herbert Scott along with four brothers: Nathan Jr., Dayton, Houston, and Arthur James; and six sisters; Mother Isla Mae Gowans, Mother Easter Mae Cribb, Viola Crosland, Lois Harrison, Eunice Campbell, and Mother Susanna Swaringer who have all preceded her in life.
Mother Iola attended Florence County Schools. At an early age, she dedicated her life to Christ and joined Greater Gethsemane Apostolic Church under the leadership of Bishop Lloyd E. Swaringer, Sr. She served the Lord faithfully until she departed this life. She was married to the late Joe Scott.
She leaves to cherish her fond and loving memories: one daughter, Alma Williams of Durham NC; seven sons: Bobby (Lyndora) Graves of Statesville, NC, James (Florine) Scott, Wayne (Bonnie Faye) , Scott of Mullins, SC, Jessie Earl Scott of Lexington, KY, Harry Lee Gowans of Brooklyn, NY, Darrell (Kim) Scott of College Park, GA, and Mark (Roselyn) Scott of Gainesville, GA; one sister: Emma Jean Reed, one daughter-n-law: Bernice Campbell Scott, one sister-n-law: Mother Elizabeth James of Florence, SC; one special granddaughter, Melissa Legette of Mullins, SC, 30 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
