“Death wrapped its ropes around me; the terrors of the grave overtook me. I saw only trouble and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the Lord: Please, Lord, save me!” Psalm 116:3-4 NLT
Fannie Mae Legette answered the Lord’s call after a lengthy battle on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at MUSC-Marion, SC. Her final days were spent surrounded by her aunt Quest Esther Lewis, that she touched throughout her very memorable life. Fannie was born to Bessie Mae Lewis and the late Franklin (Pinkie) Leonard in Mullins, SC on May 20, 1961. Fannie was reared by her grandmother, the late Pastor Sue Miller and her beloved uncle, the late Deacon Taft Lewis.
Fannie Mae was joined in holy matrimony to the late Leon Legette. Fannie Mae was a friendly, loving, people-person who loved her family and friends. She loved to sing the songs of Zion. Nothing could put a smile on her face like her grands; she loved her grandchildren and doing for them.
Fannie Mae leaves to cherish her memories, her mother Bessie Mae Lewis of Mullins SC; her aunt Queen Esther Lewis of Mullins SC; two daughters: Ebonie J. Lewis of Mullins SC, Leondra M. Legette of Marion SC; one son Benjamin L. Legette of Marion SC; one sister Wanda (Donald Ray) Godbolt of Marion SC; three (3) grandchildren: King Lewis, Tristan Gerald, Trinity Gerald and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Special thanks to the Agape Care of South Carolina; magnificence care and services.
