“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course. I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
Esther McDaniel was born as a triplet on March 7, 1939 in Georgetown, SC to the late Rev. John and Victoria Davis. She was called from labor to reward on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at 5:32pm at the Regency Hospital in Florence, South Carolina.
Esther graduated from Palmetto High School in 1957. Upon graduation, she relocated to NYC where she secured a job with the U. S. Postal Service. Esther worked as a payroll secretary until she retired in 1990. She then returned to her hometown, Mullins, SC. Esther began her Christian journey at an early age at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. In New York, she was a diligent and active member of the First Eternal Baptist Church, serving as a Missionary and member of the Senior Choir. She later joined Faith Baptist under Rev. Eric S. Pompey where she faithfully served and was affectionately called Mother McDaniel.
Esther McDaniel was a devout Christian who loved the Lord. She enjoyed singing; her favorite song was “Walk With Me Lord.” She was fun-loving, kind, and generous. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and spending time with her family and friends was priceless to her.
Esther will be sorely missed, however lovingly and fondly remembered. She leaves to cherish her memory her children Phillip Sanders (Bright Waters, NY), Robin Sanders (Mullins, SC), Joyce Payne and Mary Lane, both of Clayton, NC; one brother, Eddie Davis (Janie) and one sister Mary C. Jones, both of Mullins, SC; eight grandchildren, one aunt, two uncles, two brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law, and a host of grieving cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
