Ernest Godbolt

Ernest Godbolt of Mullins, SC departed this early life on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Faith Care Nursing Home, Florence, SC.  He was born to the late Henry and Laura Godbolt on November 14, 1952.

“E-40” as he was affectionately called by family and friends, received his education in Marion County Public Schools in Mullins, SC.  He was married to Elizabeth Gillard.  Ernest was a member of Divine Purpose Vision Ministry of Marion, SC under the leadership of Pastors Betty and James Reaves.

Ernest enlisted into the United States Air Force in his younger years, then he served as a police officer in Mullins, SC and he worked at SoPakCo of Mullins until his health failed him.  Ernest was preceded in death by parents, a brother Henry Godbolt Jr; three sisters Janie Ree McFadden, Henrietta Godfrey, and Linda Faye Godbolt.

Ernest leaves his legacy and loving memories four children: Jenefierd Williams of Mullins SC, Mary G. Campbell (Roosevelt) of Mullins SC, Francenia Godbolt of New York City NY, Edward Tyrone Godbolt of Mullins SC; two stepchildren: Billy Godbolt, Vickie Godbolt; three sisters: Betty Jean Grant (Joseph) of Sumter SC, Betty Jo Reaves (James) and Laura Ann Scott (Clay) all of Mullins SC; four (4) aunts: Lessie McFadden, May Frances, Kay Frances, Ruby Marlene;  one (1) uncle Leroy Davis; twelve (12) grandchildren: Travis, Kenneth, Marcus, Julia, Clarista, Jordan, TyQuesha, Shawn, MyShaun, Quinton, DJ and Micheala; three (3) sisters-in-law Frances Brantley (Paul), Ruby Lewis (Gary), Rosa Saxon (Curtis), all of Mullins SC; two (2) brothers-in-law Roosevelt Gillard of Greenville NC and Pastor Willie Lee Gillard (Roszella); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
