Eleanor Verlina Gamble Brown, "Sister," 65, died Monday, May 25, 2020 at Spartanburg Methodist Hospital after a brief illness. She was born March 18, 1955 iin Mullins, SC, the daughter of Ruth (Flegler) Gamble and the late William Gamble.Eleanor was educated in New York City Public Schools and graduated from Martin Van Buren High School in St. Albans, NY, in 1974. In 1987 she married William Brown of Mullins, who preceded her in death.
Eleanor received her Associate Degree in Office Systems Technology from Florence-Darlington TEC in 1995 abd worked as a records manager at the Florence County Sheriff's Office until her retirement in 2008. Eleanor was a vibrant and dynamic personality, who loved music, comedy, reading, movies, and handicrafts.
She is survived by her mother, ruth Gamble of Mullins, SC; her son Damon Gamble of Alexandria, VA, a daughter Brandy Gamble-Foxe of Spartanburg, SC; a granddaughter Dachana Gamble of Florence, SC and two grandsons Julian Gamble and Ronald Foxe of Spartanburg, SC
Eleanor also leaves two brothers, Gregory Gamble of Girard, Ohio and William (Karen) Gamble of New York, NY; four sisters Wanda Gamble of Mullins, SC, Glenda Boatwright of Huntersville, NC, Cheryl (James) Gamble-Landrith of Alexandria, VA, and Shirley Ann Malloy of Hemingway; four nieces, six nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
