Mr. Elbert Burnette Mason, III was born on November 2, 1969 in Newport News, VA to the late Deacon Elbert Mason, Jr. and Leatha Mae Mason. He graduated from Warwick High School in 1988. He was affectionately known as Junie or Mase.
As a child, Junie played little league baseball and he also loved working on cars and trucks. Later in life, Junie worked as a security guard for a few music groups. Junie was a kind, caring and compassionate human being and would do anything for those that he loved. He moved to Mullins, South Carolina to care for his parents until their deaths. He conquered many medical challenges in his life and loved his family. Junie was the type of man that would call you and check on you to see how you were doing despite how he was feeling. He loved to get together with his family and friends and he loved to dress nice, look good and smell good. Junie loved children and they loved him. He especially loved spending time with his grandson, Ayaan. Every Tuesday was Ayaan and Pop-Pop day. Junie was teaching him about cars.
Junie was preceded in death by his father, Elbert Mason, Jr., his mother, Leatha Mae Mason, and his brothers Dexter Mason and Roderick Mason.
Junie leaves to cherish fond memories of his life his daughter, Ashley Williams; his siblings: Adlai Mason, Linda Rice, Eric Mason (Pat), Rickie Mason, and Faith (Anton) Gilliam; his grandson, Ayaan Bradley and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Junie will be missed, but never forgotten by all who loved him. Rest in eternal paradise until we meet again.
