Edelle Legette

Edelle Genwright Legette was born on February 10, 1957 the Fifth out of Seven children born to the late Mr. Vender Genwright and Mrs. Pearl Hickson Genwright in Marion County.  God saw fit to call our beloved Mother Edelle home at her home on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 surrounded by her loving and supportive family.

Edelle was raised in Marion County.  She attended the Public School System of Marion, SC and graduated from Mullins High School in 1975.

Edelle made a remarkable career at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Dillon SC and she also worked at Personal Home Care Nursing Center in Florence SC. She took pride is serving and helping all her patients for 23 years.

Edelle was a sweet and kind soul. She was raised in a loving and Christian environment. She was of member of Mill Creek Missionary Baptist Church for over 30 years.

Edelle was married to late Mr. Earl Legette of Mullins SC. Edelle now rest with angels above she fought a good fight and kept the faith throughout her illness. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister; Mary Wheeler, 3 brothers; Foster, Albert, and Vender Genwright, and granddaughter; Jasmine D. Williams.

Her memories and legacy will forever be cherished by her two children; Arthur Legette of Mullins, SC and Teresa Gerald (James) of Clarksville, TN. 4 Grandchildren; Adrian, Brandon, James III, and Olivia Gerald of Clarksville, TN. 1 Brother; Thomas Genwright. 3 Sisters; Laura Wortham, Clara Dewitt and Teresa Genwright all of Mullins SC.  She leaves a wealth of Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
