Dan Duncan

Early Saturday Morning, June 11, 2022, at approximately 5:00am, God called his servant Dan home.  Brother Dan Duncan, son the late Joe and Martha Ceasar Burgess, and reared by the late Willie and Mattie Duncan was born in Hemingway, South Carolina on May 20, 1935.  Dan attended school in Williamsburg County.  Dan’s work history covers a span of life experiences.  Dan loved working as a farmer and other various jobs.  Dan loved life, he loved sharing and he was a soft-spoken man.  Dan also enjoyed cooking, landscaping and going out to the store enjoying time with his friends.

Dan met and married the late Bessie Mae White Duncan and shared a number of years of marriage. They also shared five kids. After her death, years later Dan met and married the late Veola Crawford Duncan.

Dan left his cherished memories to the five children: Joann White, Jimmy Lee White, Joseph “Bo” White (Barbara), Danny  Duncan (Karen), Martha Duncan; his favorite niece Betty (Leon) Woodbury; favorite nephew: Phillip (Ida) Burgess; one sister Margie Nell Duncan-Gerald; one brother Jimmie Duncan Rodgers; three nephews Robert (Naomi) Burgess, Evant (Mary) Burgess, Lee (Louise) Duncan; two nieces Bobbie Ann (Curtis) Braddy, Eva Mae (Geroge) Wheeler; brother-in-law Jackie Legette; sister-in-law Gladys Gail Godfrey; and a host of grands, great-grands, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
