Clara Mae Robinson, the eldest of a fraternal twin was born September 12, 1948, in Mullins, South Carolina to the late Marion “Ed” Robinson and the late Lillie Fullard Robinson. Clara faced life with courage and grace. She bravely and peacefully accepted God’s will and left this life as she lived, surrounded by her devoted sisters Clydia and Sarah, after a brief illness.
While growing up, Clara accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was baptized at Hill Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Nichols, South Carolina. She was a graduate of the Finklea High School (Loris, South Carolina) Class of 1966, where she was a member of the basketball team and honor roll society.
Clara’s professional career led her to become a dedicated Executive Assistant at the Department of the Treasury where she received numerous awards and accolades. After forty-one years of devoted and dedicated federal government service, Clara retired in 2008.
A pillar of strength to her family and friends, Clara was known for her patient listening and unwavering support. She had a deep love for down-home blues, jazz, and gospel music, as well as a passion for gardening, cooking, exercising, and conquering crossword and wordsearch puzzles.
Clara also had a love for water and in her leisure time, she found joy in gazing at the blue skies, soaking up the sun and listening to the ocean waves while at the beach. She was notably stylish, family-oriented, bold, beautiful, loving, courageous, wise, and radiant.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, Marion “Ed” and Lillie Robinson, as well as her brothers Chester, Larry, and James Robinson.
