Calvin Legette Sr. Obituary

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith……..

                                                                                                                         II Timothy 4:7

On Sunday, July 4th, 2021, Calvin Legette, Sr.  was  given  a  special assignment,  he  answered,  “Lord  I’m  Ready”  and  was  granted  his  wings.  Calvin Legette Sr., better known as “C Money” was born October 26, 1961 to  the  late  Louise  Legette  and  the  late  Lonnie  Legette,  Jr.  He was the grandson of the late Nettie Mae and Henry Spry Sr.

Calvin attended Marion County Schools and was a graduate of Marion High School.    He  was  employed  by  the  City  of  Marion,  where  he  retired after 28 years of faithful service. At an early age, Calvin gave his life to Christ. As years went by he realized he  needed  to  get  closer  to  Christ,  so  he  rededicated  his  life  to  Christ,  his Lord and Savior. His favorite saying was “I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me, he can work miracles, I know, cause he done it for me”. He who finds a wife, finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord. And that wife was Joyce Eaddy, or as he would say “the love of his life”.

Calvin was a GOD fearing man who believed in family, loved his family and cherished his friends, and would help anyone in need. He loved to cook and grill (the food was good) but he would not share his special ingredients. Calvin grew up with seven loving siblings; Terry (Joyce-deceased), Anthony (Anita) both deceased, Portual (Carol) Norman, Donald “Duck” (deceased), Brenda  (Ronel)  Taylor,  Wanda  Davis,  Marvin  Pee.      Calvin was loved by everyone who knew him.

He  leaves  to  cherish  fond  memories  his  wife  Joyce  Eaddy-Legette  of  the home;  his  children,  Frederick  (Ronile)  Gause,  Anthony  Gause,  Calvin Legette,  Jr.,  Maurice  Eaddy,  Tyrese  Eaddy,  Desmond  Eaddy,  Thanayi Eaddy,  Samara  Eaddy;  one  daughter,  Kimberly  Eaddy  preceded  him  in death; his aunts, JoAnn Spry, Rosa (Walter) McDuffie, Barbara A. Williams, Delores (AL) Edwards,  Linda  Williams;    his  uncles;  Gene  (Darlene)  Spry, Jerome  Spry,  Henry  (Linda)  Spry  Jr.;  his  sisters-in-law,  Mae  F.  Page, Patricia (Kennis) Godbolt, CasSandra Ross, Eva (Leroy) Braddy; brothers-in-law, George (Eva) Wheeler, Joseph (Betty) Wheeler; his Grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
