Mr. Carol Lee Staley answered the voice of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and entered eternal rest on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 after an illness. Mr. Staley was born May 23, 1935 to the late James Staley and Betty Reaves.
He attended the Nazarene School and Palmetto School in Mullins. As a youngster, he helped work with sharecropping on the family farms, recalling that this was the catalyst to him becoming a hard worker. He became a mechanic by trade which he truly enjoyed. Carol Lee joined Nazarene Baptist Church at an early age. He became a Trustee, helping to maintain the church and often rang the old church bell during funerals and ringing in the New Year; he was a loyal servant of God and attended church every Sunday before entering the Nursing Home. He was also a member of the “Four Score Club.”
Carol Lee is preceded in death by three sons- Willie Evans, Levern Staley, and Willie James Staley; three siblings, Annie Caldwell, Lou Ester Fenwick, and Teronie Reaves.
Mr. Staley leaves to cherish his fond memories five daughters: Patricia Evans of Florence, SC, Eva Mae Johnson, Geraldine Staley, Cathen Hall, and Carolyn Cooper of Mullins SC; one son Martin Reaves of Mullins, SC; four sisters: Elizabeth (Percell) Austin, Vonel (George) Walker, Brenda G. McFadden, all of New Jersey and Mae Helen Reaves of Mullins, SC;. 22 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 5 great great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
