Billy K. Ford, affectionately known as “Kool” was born on March 20, 1958 to the late Bobby Gilchrist and Eunice Johnson and adopted by the late Rebecca Ford and the late Yank Ford of Lakeview, South Carolina. He departed this earthly life on June 9, 2022.
Billy K. received his education at Lakeview High School and graduated in 1975. He was employed at Smithfield packing in Tar Heel, North Carolina where he retired in May 2022. In 1992 he met and married the love of his life Verdell Crawford.
Billy K. Was preceded in death by two brothers, Nathaniel Johnson and Ralph Johnson, one sister Jane Nance and a daughter Tonya Mason.
Billy K. leaves fond and loving memories to be cherished by: his wife, Verdell Ford of the home; three sons, Willie Crawford of Marion, South Carolina, John (Tracy) Legette of Fairmont, North Carolina and Delvon Bethea of Lake View, South Carolina; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren; three sisters, Maudine Johnson, Leola (Ondrea) Taylor of Fairmont, North Carolina, and Vicki Small of Conway, South Carolina; four brothers Idris (Joyce) Rasheed, Monroe Johnson and Levern (Ann Frances) Johnson all of Lakeview, South Carolina and Darren (Tonya) Johnson of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and a special friend Len Earl Nance, Jerry McNeil, Matthew Nance, and Marcell Bethea.
