Sis. Beulah Mae Taylor Johnson entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at the McLeod Hospice House, Florence, SC. She was born in Granville County, NC on July 30, 1041, to the late Mattie Morton Taylor and Hunter Taylor, as third of six children.
Beulah attended Granville County Public Schools, graduating from GC Shaw High School, Stovall, NC. She was converted at an early age and joined the Stovall Baptist Church in Stovall, NC and remained a member until she graduated from high school and moved to Baltimore, MD.
Sis. Beulah was joined in holy matrimony to Woodrow Johnson on December 12, 1964, and they later moved to Marion, SC. There she continued her spiritual journey joining the former Mt. Beulah Holiness Church, know now as Monument of Faith Christian Ministries. Beulah served in various capacities of the church to include Secretary of the Sunday School, Gospel Choir member, Usher Board, Deaconess Ministry, and President of the Missionary Ministry. Most importantly, Beulah cherished her role as “Mother Johnson”, Mother of the Church. Beulah enjoyed various pastimes. She could be found thrift shopping, gardening (especially planting flowers), fishing, taking care of others, while worshipping and praising God! She valued her relationship with the Lord and firmly believed in bringing Him glory. Beulah was also an avid reader, especially when it came to the Ford of God. Her generosity, coupled with her sharing and caring nature, will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.
Left to honor and cherish her memory include her committed and loving husband, Deacon Woodrow Johnson of the home; one son Michael Anthony Johnson of Newport News, VA; two grandchildren; Sisters: Mary T. (Randolph) Jones of Stovall NC, Annie M. Royster of Bullock NC and Barbara (Herman) Boy of Manson NC; special granddaughter, Linette (Steve) Edwards of Marion SC; on brother-in-law Harold Lewis of Baltimore, MD; Spiritual Leaders: Bishop Terry and Pastor Brenda McZeke; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
