OBITUARY

To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose, under the heaven, a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant and time to pluck up that which was planted. Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

Benjamin (Benny) Davis was the son of the late West and Polly Davis.  He was born August 28, 1952 in Marion County, South Carolina.  He departed this earthly life on July 12, 2020 while at the McLeod Medical Center in Florence South Carolina.

Benny as we know him received his education in Marion County Public School District in South Carolina.  In the early 70’s he moved to Syracuse, NY, where he was employed at Longley Jones Realtor, he was also employed by Carrier Heating and Cooling Company for a number of years.  After making a home in Syracuse, NY for many years Benny returned to his home in Mullins, SC in 2010.

Benny attended the House of God Church in Centenary with his mother in his early years.  After moving to Syracuse NY he attended and joined the New Hope Missionary Baptist in Syracuse, NY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Polly Ann Lewis and Shirley Davis, two nieces: Maria Lewis and Ella Richburg Gerald.

Benny leaves to cherish loving memories – his sons: Ashley Davis of Syracuse NY, Derrick Davis of Poughkeepsie, NY.  One brother, West (Barbara) Davis Jr. of Mullins, SC.  Three sisters: Helen Davis Richburg and Evelyn Swinton of Mullins and Gale Davis of New Port News, VA.  One aunt, Eva Davis of Mullins and one great aunt, Flossie Leonard of Mullins.  Three grandsons: Neko, Camren, and Darian Davis of Syracuse, NY, and a host of relatives and friends.
