Alfrida was born August 18, 1939 in Mullins, South Carolina to the parentage of the late Raymond and Irene Shaw.
A Time To Learn
Alfrida was observed as a special kind of student beginning her elementary years in the public schools of Mullins, South Carolina. She was named Miss Palmetto High School 1957. She matriculated and completed the requirements and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Morgan State University, Baltimore Md. and her Masters from Catholic University, Washington D.C., being an ambitious young lady. She also attended Temple University and Washington D.C. Teacher’s College. She retired from Calvert County School System in 2001. While in Washington D.C., she was a member of D.C. Pilgrim A.M.E. Church. She served on the stewardness board also served as coordinator of the stewardness board one, Rosedale Community Board of Directors, WMS Offi cer, Local Secretary Area-Parliamentarian, District Membership and Recruitment.
A Time To Share Her Talents Home
After retirement, she returned home to Mullins, SC and reconnected with New Ebenezer A.M.E. Church. Once she got settled in she began her missionary work. She served on the stewardness board, decorator for the church monthly and seasons, Pearl Choir 7-10, Junior Choir, A.C.E. also (Allen Christian Education) Personal Side of Life She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Soronity, Inc., A Member of Palmetto 262 Chapter of the Eastern Star, where she served as fi nancial secretary. She was also a fi fty member of the Eastern Star.
A Time To Die
A Time of Peace..... Alfrida departed this life, April 22, 2020 in peace. With the same faith in God that carried her in life, now gently covering her in death.
A Time To Mourn
Alfrida leaves the cherish her memory and continue her legacy of dedicated Christian Service.
