Obituary
Ruben Percy Lewis also better known as “RP” entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 27, 2018 in Carolinas Hospital System in Florence, SC. “RP” was born in Dillon County on June 5, 1935 to the late Ruben Lewis, Sr. and the late Maggie Mason Lewis.
“RP” was employed with the Rogers family for many years. He was a graduate of Lake View High School in Lake View, SC. He worked on the farm and drove trucks for a living.
“RP” was a faithful member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Fork, SC where he served on the Usher Board for many years. He enjoyed fishing. He also loved to tell jokes and make people laugh.
“RP” is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Sue Neal Lewis.
He leaves to cherish fond memories a son, Robert Lewis of Philadelphia, PA; 2 granddaughters from Mullins, SC: Rachel Nance & Rene Banjoko and 2 granddaughters from Philadelphia, PA; seven great-grandchildren; one sister Priscilla “Mack” Page; three (3) special friends: Alfonzo Lewis, Henry Thompson and Michael Rogers; and a host of other relatives and friends.
“RP” shared a close relationship with the Edwards Family in Fork, SC. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
