Randolph Coleman Obituary

On Monday afternoon, February 25, 2019 God called Randolph “Randy” Coleman and he answered and left for the city where there is no more pain or sorrow; only joy and eternal peace. Randy, son of the late McDowell Coleman and the late Dorothy Atkinson was born September 8, 1956 in Mullins, SC.

Randy was educated in the Lake View Public School System. He graduated in 1975 and joined the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served his county for three years as a Freight Operations Manager/ Industrial Truck Operator. After an honorable discharge, he further pursued a career as a truck driver and traveled across the United States. He drove trucks until his health declined.

After years of a diligent fight with his illness, Randy entered the nursing home. He was perfect and devoted big little brother to James, better known as Monk, while they were together in Sunny Acres Nursing Facility. Everyday Randy would go sit with Monk, which always put a smile on both of their faces. Randy enjoyed life and never hid the way he felt. He would gladly tell you what was on his mind. His bold and upfront personality will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Memories of Randy’s earthly journey will be cherished by: his daughter, Randi Warren of West Palm Beach, FL; two sisters, Pernell (Charlie) Jenkins of District Heights, MD and Linda McMillian of Lake View, SC; two brothers, Jimmie Atkinson Jr. of Lake View, SC and Pastor Christopher (Vanessa) Atkinson of Edison, NJ, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Jimmie Atkinson and his brothers, James Coleman and Terry Atkinson.
