“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. Psalm 23:1
On Friday, May 25, 2018, Deacon Nelson “King” Cochran entered into eternal rest after a brief illness. Deacon Nelson King Cochran was born on November 12, 1949 in Marion, SC to the late Nelson Cochran, Sr. and Edna Legette. He attended the public schools in Marion County and he graduated from Terrell’s Bay. He was a member of True Holiness Church of Jesus Christ where he served faithfully as the chairman of the Deacon Board until his health declined.
“King” was joined in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Pastor Patricia Cochran. To this blessed union were born Anthony, Latoya and Erica. He was a very devoted and loving husband and father. Deacon Cochran was a very loving, caring, kind and well-loved man. He was a brick mason, cow herder, and he was formerly employed at A.V.M. Deacon Cochran helped anyone that he could with a smile. He loved his cows and he was faithful in the church.
Deacon Cochran had two brothers that preceded him in death: Monroe and Michael Carl Cochran. Deacon Cochran will be missed by his loving family, his church family and those whose lives he touched throughout the years.
He leaves to cherish fond memories: his loving wife Pastor Patricia Cochran, his two daughters of the home Latoya Cochran and Erica (Frank) Furnace, and one son Anthony (Kathy) Williamson of Atlanta, GA; one adopted daughter Melissa Legette of Mullins, SC; grandchildren: Phallen Roberts of Marion, SC, Akeelah Robinson, Shaniya Brown, Tamera Brown and Brian Boykin Jr., of Mullins, SC and Kierra Owens of Lumberton, NC; two sisters: Edna (Eddie) Smith of Suffolk, VA and Mary Alice (John) Crawford of Marion, SC; one brother David (Christy) Cochran of Marion, SC; five aunts: Helen Rogers, Hallie Graham, Louise Legette, Edna Legette, all of Marion, SC and Virginia Legette of Mullins, SC; four sisters-in-law: Tammy Cochran of Marion, SC, Jackie Legette and Kathy (Donald) Legette of Mullins, SC and Ola Cochran of Stamford, CT; one brother-in-law Larry (Patricia) Legette of Mullins, SC; special friends: Lawrence Robinson and Jimmy Grant of Marion, SC; special niece and nephew: Kandace Cochran (Mullins, SC) and John Cochran (Stamford, CT).
