Myia Jakee Wheeler-Carmichael was born on August 8, 1981 to Martha D. Wheeler and George C. Wheeler Jr. She departed this life on April 20, 2019 at Mcleod Hospital in Dillon, SC. In 1999 she graduated from Mullins High School. After high school, she enrolled in Coker College and later transferred to Florence-Darlington Technical College. She earned AS Degrees in Business Administration, Management and Marketing. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and joined Friendship #1 in Nichols, SC. She was currently attending Harvest Time Evangelistic Center in Mullins SC.
She worked at Sunny Acres Nursing Home as a Certified Nursing Assistant for several years where she met and later married Bobby Carmichael. Myia enjoyed bringing her family and friends together and planning different affairs. She loved taking care of those who needed help. She was a full time caregiver for her mother and spent a lot of time with her great-nephew Ty’Aire Robinson and her God-son Alonzo Felton Jr. Myia also appreciated the support she received from her loving step-mother. Myia was one who would give her last to anyone who needed it and found great joy in her nieces and nephews, as she treated them all if they were her own.
Myia was preceeded in death by her grandparents Thomas and Clara B. Jordan and Bishop George C and Clara M. Wheeler. She leaves to cherish her memories her parents, Martha D. Wheeler of the home, George (Eva) Wheeler Jr of Rains, SC; four sisters: Nichole (Kevin) Paige of Dillon, SC; Georgianna Harps of Mullins, SC; Lakisha (Willie) Johnson of Dillon SC; Queenie Duncan of Rains, SC; five brothers: William (Emma) Davis of Florence, SC; Clifton (Laure) Davis of Elon, NC; Cephus Davis of Durham, NC; Robert (Nicole) Thompson of Florence, SC; Andre Bethea of Dillon, SC; nine Aunts: Johnnye Bell of Las Vegas, NV; Rachel Jones of Georgia; Sheila Gilchrist of Charlotte, NC; Lillie Jordan, Joyce (Calvin) Eaddy, Mae F. Page, Patricia (Kennis) Wheeler; CasSandra Wheeler-Ross, Eva (Leroy) Braddy all of Mullins SC; four uncles: Ronnie Jones, Joseph (Betty) Wheeler of Mullins SC; Russell Gilchrist of Bridgetport, CT; Patrick Jordan of Charlotte, NC; eleven nephews, eight nieces, two great-nephews and two great-nieces, a special nephew DeAntay Davis who was more like a brother, close friends: LaQuinn Woods, Wendy Davis, Priscilla Perkins and Kem Friday and a host of family and friends.
