Marcus Hodge Obituary

“To everything there is a season,

A time for every purpose under heaven”:

A time to be born and a time to die.  (Ecclesiastes 3: 1-2)

Marcus Quinte’ Hodge was born June 15, 1976 and departed this life on October 30, 2019.  He was the firstborn child of Willie C. Hodge Jr. and Joyce Tucker.

“For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”  (Romans 10:10)

Marcus gave his life to Christ at a young age and joined First Friendship Baptist Church, Nichols SC.  Marcus was a member of the Junior Choir and Junior Usher Board.

“…A time to plant, and time to pluck what is planted.” (Ecclesiates 3:2)

Marcus attended Mullins High School where he was a member of the Mullins High School Marching Band.  After graduating from high school in 1994 he went on to attend Francis Marion University where he studied Business Administration.  While at Francis Marion he became a proud member of the Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity, Inc.  Marcus graduated from FMU in 1998 with a Bachelors in Business Administration and went on to manage several business franchises throughout his career.  Marcus lived and worked in Roxboro, NC where he was well respected by his colleagues at Enterprise Rent A Car.

“Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:17)

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Willie C. Hodge Sr., Luvenia Leonard and Daniel Leonard.

“The father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him.” (Proverbs 23:24)

Marcus leaves to cherish fond memories his treasured son Darian Ja’von O’Neil; his loving parents Willie C. Hodge Jr. and Joyce Tucker, his caring sister Crystal Hodge (Everton) of New Jersey, his grandmother Helen Hodge of Nichols SC, aunts, uncles and a host of cousins and dear friends.
