Jerome Wilson Obituary

"For I am ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand, I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:  Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righeous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only but unto all them also that love his appearing."         II Timothy 4:6-8

On February 28, 2018, a golden heart stopped beating and God whispered, "Come and Rest."  Jerome Wilson departed this life at South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City, Florida.  Jerome was fondly known as "Trouble."  He was born on November 5, 1939 in Horry County, Loris, SC to Mrs. Orilee Swinton and Mr. Frank Wilson.  He was the 10th child of 16 children.  Jerome was raised in Mullins, educated in the Marion County School System, where he attended Palmetto High School in Mullins, SC.  After school, he relocated to Ocean City, NJ, where he lived for a number of years.  He came back home and remained in Mullins.  While in Mullins, he attended St. Paul Baptist Church.  Later he migrated to Florida.  Knowing this day would come, he joined Faith Temple Presbyterian Church in Plant City, FL, under the fine leadership of Rev. James Griffin.

Jerome was preceded in death by his two children - Tammy Wheeler White and Tyrone Everette, his parents, four sisters: Sarah Reaves, Easter Mae Wilson, Ernestine Reed, Collean Crawford; 2 brothers- James Wilson and Jimmy Franklin Wilson.

While in Florida, Jerome met and married Ann Kitchen.  She was a devoted wife that stood by his side during his lengthy illness.

He leaves to cherish his sweet memories his wife, Ann; two grandchildren who were th apple of his eye - James White "Jamie" & wife, and Tammy White "Tam Tam; one great grandchild; one son-in-law: James White; five sisters: Mrs. Fankie Dewitt of Baltimore, MD, Mrs. Maebelle Bryant of Tabor City, NC, (his special sister he called Mama), Mrs. Leila Gerald of Egg Harbor City, NJ, Mrs. Loretta Davis of Hyattsville, MD, Mrs. Evelene Roberts of Latta, SC; four brothers: L.W. Wilson (Jean), Roscoe Wilson, Ivory Lee Wilson (Liz) Larry Wilson (Rosenna) all of Mullins, SC; one sister-in-law, Annette Wilson: two brothers-in-law: John Reed and Joe Crawford and a host of nices, nephews, cousins and friends.
