Jearlean Shuler Leonard was born to the late Ernestine Shuler on January 12, 1948.  She departed this life on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence SC after a brief stay. She was educated in the public school system of Dillon County.  She was married to the late Lenneau Leonard of Nichols, SC for 43 years.

Mookie, as she was affectionately known, was a private person that enjoyed cooking, working in her years, and spending time with her family and friends.  Her door was always open for positive advice and to lend a helping hand. She was employed at Sunny Mart in Nichols for many years until retirement.  She gave her life to Christ at an early age and was an active member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church #2, until her health limited her attendance. 

Mookie was preceded in death by husband Lenneau Leonard, son Mitchell J. Shuler, mother Ernestine Shuler, grandson Kegan Woodbury, 4 brothers Robert Shuler (twin), James Nance, John Nance,  Beverly Johnson and two sisters: Annette Colvin and Juliet Bethea.

She leaves to cherish her memory 3 sons: Ronald Shuler, Len Earl Leonard, Tyrone Leonard, 3 daughters: Sarah Leonard, Elistine Roberts, Shantell Nelson; one stepson Thomas Carmichael; 2 son in laws: Patrick Roberts and Leonard Nelson; 7 grandkids: Kimberly Godbolt, Shannon Leonard, Tiesha Evans, Rockeem Leonard, Najhee Roberts, Ivery Leonard, Jada Leonard; 7 great grands Kavariel Murphy, Miah Reaves, Elijah Godbolt, Elyria Godbolt, Jordyn Fortne, Jamari Finklea Jay'ceon Finklea; 7 siblings Harlan (Rose) Shuler, Beulah Shuler, Don (Linda) Shuler, Donella (Oscar) Helton, William Shuler, Charles (Sonya) Shuler, Dianne Shuler, John (Betty) Coleman, siblings in law: Deloris Pina, Joseph (Addie) Leonard, Vassie Leonard, Phyllis (Earl) Green, Lavaba Timmons, Willie Timmons, Livia Owens, Mike Leonard, Comfort Leonard, Gilda (Willie) many neices, nephews, extended family friends and special family members Deloris Pina and Evelyn Gaddy. She will be greatly missed.
