Hattie Shackerford Obituary

Hattie was born July 3, 1951 in Horry County to the late Rev. Eston and Nettie Frazier. She was raised in a loving home with 5 siblings. Hattie was educated in the public school system of Horry County. Hattie was married to Ben James Shackerford for over 42 years and to this union four children were born.

Hattie was employed with Supreme Lighting Corporation in Mullins, SC for about eighteen years. She was a devoted member and missionary of Faith Deliverance Temple Holiness Church, Mullins, SC under the leadership of Elder Raymond Johnson. Before moving her membership, she fellowshipped with Powerhouse Church of Jesus Christ in Mullins, SC.

Hattie knew no strangers and had many friends, and raised many, many, other family members. She was a devoted wife and proud mother of 2 college graduates and post graduates, also the proud mother of 2 other hard working proud fathers. Hattie without a doubt loved the Lord with all her heart. To God Be the Glory! Hattie was preceded in death by four siblings: Eston Frazier, Jr, Johnny Henry Frazier, Cynthia Gene Frazier, and Rebecca Ann Raeford.

Hattie will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Ben James Shackerford of the home; three sons: James Shackerford of Lansing, MI, Willie Shackerford of Mullins, SC, and Benjamin Shackerford of Charlotte, NC; a daughter: Katina Deloris Mason (Frederick) of Marion, SC. Hattie also raised as her own three children: Ruth Ann Williamson of Mullins, SC, Charlene Raeford of Charlotte, NC and Charles Raeford of Columbia, SC; one brother: Willie James Frazier (Annette) of Mullins, SC; 19 grandchildren: Jamesha, Jada, J’niya, Angela, Shaina, Gianna, Willasia, Willie, Ciara, Antonio, Maurice, Saquan, Shaylan, Mariah, Cadell, Rebecca, Shanta, Mary, Jaylen; one greatgrandson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Special friends: Ms. Edna White, Phillip Locke, and Dorothy Fladger.

Hattie’s favorite saying is “Keep the Sabbath Day holy,” because one day we will have to see Him for ourselves
