Lillie Gause Obituary

On Sunday, January 28, 2024, Mae Mae, as she is affectionately called, departed this life at MUSC in Marion after a brief illness.  She was born to the late Tom and Pearline Merchant Ford, and was also preceded in death by her husband, John Gause; her son, Gregory Ford; a daughter, Pamela Victoria Jenkins; two brothers, Willie and Thomas Ford, Jr.

Lillie Mae was educated in the public schools of Dillon County and graduated from Columbus High School in Lake View, SC in 1963. She was an avid basketball player. She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She worked at Marvel and Supreme Lighting and retired from SoPackCo in 2011. She served as an usher and missionary for her church for many years.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories: her committed daughter, Tanya Raquel Jenkins Taylor of the home; two sisters; Bishop Carolyn Wilson of Mullins, SC;  and Ella Ford (Bishop Levester) Williams of Florence, SC;  and one brother; Abraham (Ivey) Ford of Ludowici, Georgia; two grandsons:  Kennis (Pamela) Taylor and Keonta (Abrea) Taylor of Florence, SC; four great-grandchildren: Kyndai, ZaMarlee, ZaMarr’J, and Klover; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends and a very special friend, Mrs. Mary McNeil.
