Eula Witherspoon Green received her wings on March 19, 2024. She was born April 20, 1939 to the parents of Eva Catherine Owens and Ulysses Witherspoon. She was a proud graduate of Palmetto High School of Mullins, SC in 1957. She traded Mullins for the bright lights and good times in the big apple (New York) to find a good career. After experiencing working, snow and cold weather it left a lot to be desired. She then returned back home and was accepted into South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, SC and graduated in 1962. From there she married her high school sweetheart William Green, Jr and moved to Washington, DC and were blessed with two children Tara Green and William Christopher Green.
She was hired at the Department of Defense, Headquarters, US Marine Corps in Arlington, VA. After serving in the government for over 35 years, she retired in 2003. She decided to leave the city and move back to her hometown Mullins, SC in 2008. Eula was an active member of the St. Paul Baptist Church and a dedicated deaconess, a member of floral committee, and the Mack T. Hines Bible class. She was also a member of the Palmetto Alumni Association
She enjoyed bowling, going to basketball games with friends, travelling, visiting family and children Washington, DC for Birthday and Christmas celebrations.
Eula Witherspoon Green, leaves to cherish found memories to her two children Tara Y. Green of Brandywine, MD and William Christopher Green of District Heights, MD . Five grandchildren, Lashay Clark, Jazmine Clark, Marcus Green, Semaj Beals, and Darren Green. One sister, Gloria Nichols, of Mullins, SC and two brothers, Billy R. Witherspoon of Mullins, SC and William (Garrett) Witherspoon, of Suitland, MD. One brother who preceded her in death James P. Witherspoon and one sister who preceded her in death Yvonne Nichols. She also leaves a hosts of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
