“These who bring sunshine to others cannot keep it from themselves”
On Tuesday, March 13, 2018, The Lord saw His beautiful and loving daughter Lena was suffering. She had fought a good fight and she was faithful in all her ways. More than anything in the world she loved The Lord. God being the loving God that He is decided it was time for her to come home. He quickly dispatched His angels to bring her back to Him. He softly and lovingly called her by her name and she answered His call. My precious Lena, it’s your time to come on home.
Lena began this earthly journey in the lord on September 26, 1950, in Williamsburg County to the late Tom and Lillie Mae Salters Mullins. She was the seventh of ten children.
After graduating from high school with the Mighty Class of 1969 from Palmetto High School, she married her high school sweetheart James Howard Legette. They were married January 29, 1972, they were married for forty-six years.
At an early age she accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She was a life-long member of Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church in Mullins, South Carolina. It was her pleasure serving on the Missionary and Usher Boards and other church auxiliaries. She attended faithfully until her health wouldn’t allow her to.
Lena had such a love and dedication to her family. Like her father, she was always smiling. Lena loved shopping, talking on the phone, and listening to her gospel music. A few of her other favorites were cooking, baking, and sewing. Lena was able to retire from manufacturing after many years of dedicated service once her health declined. Lena is preceded in death by her parents Tom and Lillie Mae Salters Mullins; and her sisters Mildred Mullins Gray, Hazel L. Mullins Thomas, and Ernestine Mullins Phillips.
Lena is survived by her devoted husband, James Howard Legette of Mullins, SC; her Beloved Daughter: Alisha J.
